If you heard Pure Essentials President Melissa Crispell speak at HEALcon 2024, you know the dirty secrets of the supplement industry. Cost-cutting shortcuts. Low quality standards. Sub-optimal ingredient forms. Questionable formulations and so much more.
Pure Essentials says "NO" to all of that. We make clean, effective products.
We NEVER stop asking hard questions. To make sure our meticulous standards are met across every aspect of formulation and production, long before a product arrives at your doorstep.
- Is every ingredient extracted from a natural source?
We reject those that are not. - What part of the plant, seed, leaf, nut, berry, fish, or other natural source was used to derive the ingredient?
It matters a lot. - How are the raw materials cultivated, harvested, refined and processed?
We demand transparency at every step.- Can we see documents to prove that?
We reject manufacturing partners who can’t or won’t prove they meet our standards.
Our strict adherence to those questions, and to those answers, are how Pure Essentials achieve the essence of our stated mission: “…vitamins, minerals and essential nutrients in the highest quality forms available.”
We believe that the hard questions we ask and the answers we demand of others are the key to helping you reclaim your health.
These ingredients below typify our hard line on quality...
Superior Fish Oil Processing
Part I: We source our fish oil from wild-caught fish in world-renowned and certified sustainable fisheries. No farmed fish or non-marine oils. Then we use a gentle yet advanced and effective process that produces highly concentrated fish oil that’s so pure it exceeds toxin and oxidation standards. Fish oil that’s so pure…you’ll notice our omega-3 has no fishy smell or taste.
Part II: Most fish oil gel capsules in your local store are made from cow or pig byproducts. Why? Because it’s cheap and readily available. We use fish gelatin. So our customers avoid whatever livestock hormones or antibiotics the cows and pigs received, to protect patrons who may be allergic to mammal byproducts, and out of respect for common religious and cultural practices.
Silica From Organic Bamboo
Magnesium stearate is commonly used as an “additive” in supplements. While the FDA says it’s safe, some people may experience an unwanted laxative effect and the discomforts that entails. Stearate is cheap, usually synthetic and highly processed from GMO soybean, corn, cottonseed, or animal fat. Many companies won't tell you what their magnesium stearate is derived from. They don't care, don't know, or are hiding it.
Ultra Magnesium includes 70% silica content for health and beauty benefits, and Pure Essentials opts for organic bamboo stem and leaf as a natural, non-GMO alternative.
Naturally Sourced & Vegan
Not all vitamin D supplements are alike. Did you know most are derived from sheep's wool? Yep, from lanolin -- a.k.a. sheep grease. To no one's surprise, because it's cheaper than other alternatives...big profits for big corporations.
If you are vegan or vegetarian, that's an issue. Vitamin D can be derived from pine pollen, but the process is heavy on solvents and some traces of those may be found in the product. Pure Essentials sources vitamin D from a lichen that is sustainably harvested and rich in D3. It's vegan friendly, effective in delivering the many vitamin D benefits, and it's free from harmful chemicals often found in other vitamin D sources.
